So, I'm trying to decide, so I attempt a year in review, or just pick up where the last blogging update left off. Think I'll start with the end of 2010 and the first three months of 2011.
Flying in winter in Europe was definitely a learning lesson. First, don't ever EVER accept an hour long delay at Chuckie D's (aka CDG Aeroport.) My plane out of CFE was an hour late, so I ate up my whole layover in Paris, waiting on the regional jet. After missing the last bus to the Atlanta plane, I spent the night in Roissy (second lesson - always have your toothbrush and clean undies with you in your carry on) waiting for the plane to Cincy then ATL, then finally G'vegas. My fabulous friends met me IN the airport with the cookies I missed out on baking and decorating with them that afternoon, and Hal was there to drive me home. The next morning I sang with my home choir for the Christmas Cantata then crashed with jet lag. After a few days in GSP with Hal =) I made the annual trek from G'vegas to Savannah. As if the airplane drama wasn't high enough, my mom's sunroof exploded between Columbia and Orangeburg on I-26. Three noisy hours later, I pulled into the Benz dealership in Sav'h to get a replacement window... they don't keep those things in stock, and this was 2 days before Christmas!
After a week in Savannah with family and friends (and an Aveda haircut,) I made it back for a few days in Greenville before flying back. Third travel lesson learned, ALWAYS confirm your flights 48 hours in advance, and don't be afraid to call Delta and ask for better flight options that what's available on the internet.
January... hmmm, the only highlights in my Picasa album for January was the awesome New Year's party at Michael's house in SparkleCity.

What to say about February... it's dark and cold in Clermont in February. Rather depressing actually. Just when I thought I couldn't take anymore, work stepped in and sent me to RIO! I definitely wasn't the best geography student, but I know that the seasons are opposite in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres and going to Rio in February was the PERFECT time. It was hot, sticky, muggy wonderfulness. Work was good and the caipharina's were better! The beaches are beautiful and my colleagues took good care of me, both my French ones and the local Rio/Campo Grande teams. I hope that my current responsibilities will afford the opportunity to go back in 2012, and I WILL be staying for vacation next time =)

I got back from Rio just in time for the Pereda's Mardi Gras party. Luckily, I picked up a mask on my trip to Rio, but it didn't compare to the awesome costumes Robin and Oscar found!
And now, onto March. Is it sad that I have to look at my Picasa files to remember what I did in March? This year has gone by so quickly...So the only thing in the March Picasa folder... pictures of my very cool French bible that I picked up at the local brocante. The brocante is the professional flea market. Don't call it a flea market... people will become offended.
I really like my French bible; it continues to remind me that God is constant in this world of change and transition. Thanks Donna for finding it in that box of books. We roadtripped to Ikea that afternoon on a whim and brought back lots of fun finds.
So this trip through history is getting really long, and I applaud my friends and family that are still reading. I promise to get the next three months updated very soon!
